Off-Campus Sustainability & Engagement

Lexington Sustainability Activities

Students interested in sustainability, service and community engagement will find many opportunities to get involved throughout Lexington. From using public transportation options like the Colt Trolley and Lextran bus service to supporting local food systems through community-supported agriculture programs, students have many ways to connect daily life with sustainable choices. Such community organizations as Broke Spoke Community Bike Shop, Faith Feeds, GleanKY and Seedleaf offer hands-on volunteer opportunities focused on transportation access, food recovery, gardening and hunger relief.

Together, these local resources help students engage with Lexington beyond campus while supporting environmental stewardship, community resilience and food justice.
