Education:

• M.S. Geology with specialization in Petroleum Geoscience at the University of Tromsø, Norway, and the University Centre in Svalbard.

• B.S. Geology at the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil.

Research:

During my Ph.D., I have been using Appalachian Basin analogues as a tool to understand the tectonostratigraphy and basin evolution of the Barents Sea shelf. The work includes a sedimentologic, stratigraphic and tectonic synthesis of the Barents Sea shelf and its influence on the development of petroleum systems there. The research has been funded by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).

During my M.S., I performed seismic stratigraphy and well correlation to better understand the Paleogene succession across the western Barents Sea shelf, and its response to North Atlantic tectonics. Other tasks were to analyse the Paleogene petroleum systems and the "Pingvin" hydrocarbon anomaly.

During my B.S., I performed mineral prospecting and mapping in remote areas of Brazil. Other tasks were to use geochemistry and petrology to better understand metalogenesis and distribution of ore.

Hobbies:

Photography and traveling. I have been to more than 35 countries and counting!
